We don't know where the time has gone, but school is just about out, and it's time to find fun summer activites for the kids to do! We've compiled a list of some of our favorite summer activities in and around Colorado Springs.

1. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo: Named the #2 Best Zoo in North America by USA TODAY, this gem of a zoom is nestled in the foothills of Cheyenne Mountain. The breathtaking mountain scenery combined with the stunning views of the Broadmoor Hotel and city of Colorado Springs make this zoo an unforgettable destination. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo boasts 146 acres that are home to animals from all over the world. Don't miss our famous giraffe herd, which is one of the largest of any zoo in the U.S.!

 2. John Venezia Park: This fun city park has a ranch theme with elements designed to resemble what would be traditionally found on a homestead; including:

  • "The Homestead:" a large pavilion and picnic area with orchards and parking lot.
  • "The Corral:" a universally accessible playground and shade shelters.
  • "The Watering Hole:" a spray ground.
  • "The Round Pin:" a small artificial turf field.
  • "The Range:" three size "A" soccer fields, in-line hockey rink/basketball court, four pickleball courts, plaza overlooking multi-use fields, small playground, restrooms, two parking lots, nearby on-street parking.
  • "The Pastures:" 3 Reservable Pavilions and two shade shelters, gravel walking loops, parking lot.
  • The park also features: Briargate trail (along Briargate Parkway), two miles of interior sidewalks, two acres of Bluegrass.

 3. The North Pole: Located in Cascade, CO is the North Pole-Santa’s Workshop, an enchanting vintage amusement park nestled at the foot of Pikes Peak near Colorado Springs, Colorado. Home to Santa’s Village and the jolly man himself, you can visit the North Pole from May 17th through the end of the year! In 1955, 25 acres of land was designed by former Walt Disney artist, Arto Monaco, and the village was constructed of 12 alpine buildings including a home for Mr. and Mrs. Claus, three workshops, a blacksmith shop, gate house, reindeer barn, souvenir shop, show house, and Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard. The pure joy of the Christmas spirit has remained intact for 70 years!

4. Great Wolf Lodge: What a fun indoor day trip!  Start a rock collection at Oliver’s Mining Co., defeat the shadowy darkness in MagiQuest, pull your way to the top on Rustic Ridge Climbing Wall, score big at the Northern Lights Arcade, splash in the HUGE indoor water park, bowl, eat sweet treats, and more!

5. Ford Amphitheater: Our city's newest 8,000 seat outdoor concert venue includes lower and upper bowls with permanent seating, 92 fire-pit suites that seat eight people each and a lawn-seating area. Check out the full 2025 schedule, here: 2025 Concert Schedule.
