With Easter less than one week away, now is a great time to plan how you'd like to spend the weekend. The great news is, Colorado Springs has no shortage of options for all ages and budgets. Whether you're looking for something fun for the little ones or maybe a little more traditional, here are a few of the area's many great holiday events this April.
Hotel Elegante's Easter Sunday Brunch
Hotel Elegante Conference and Event Center in Southeast Colorado Springs is hosting a mouthwatering brunch with something delicious for every palate preference. Kick-off your brunch at the waffle station, where you can layer on the berries and fruit or keep it traditional with syrup. Then, move on to the carving station where you can indulge in your choice of prime rib roast or maple bourbon turkey.
Nature Center Adventures!
Enjoy a guided stroll through the park and discover some hidden treasures along the way! Meet their resident rabbit and take part in an interactive info session about all things bunny. This fun event is for ages 2 – 10 and mom or dad must accompany their little one.
Hams & Hamstrings
It's only fitting that the Olympic City USA would have something this Easter for the athletic crowd. Get your eggs-ercise in at this year's Hams & Hamstrings 5k. Participants are encouraged to dress up in Easter-themed attire, and at the end of the race you'll receive your very own mini Easter ham. Whether you're a confident runner or a casual walker, everyone of all ages and abilities are welcome to take part. This year the run will take place in Stetson Hills Open Space in Powers.
Easter At The Broadmoor
Celebrate Easter in style at the Broadmoor! Enjoy a little staycation in a classic guest suite with discounts on golf, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, free meals for kids under 10 – which also applies to Easter Brunch on Sunday. Those staying for three nights can take advantage of a $100 credit towards their stay.
Easter Sunrise Service At Royal Gorge Bridge & Park
Participate in an early-morning service with pastor, Grant Adkisson, beneath a breathtaking sunrise in the mountains. Service starts at 6 AM and there will be complimentary coffee and hot chocolate available. Dress warm as it is an outdoor venue, and you're welcome to bring blankets and chairs if you prefer.
Breakfast With the Easter Bunny
Bring the entire family to celebrate Easter and the arrival of the spring season. Breakfast includes fluffy flapjacks, and personal photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny are available. Other activities include dressing up with bunny ears, face painting, music, and more. Proceeds benefit Catholic Charities of Central Colorado, and visitors are invited to bring pantry food items such as snacks, canned soup, cereal, mac and cheese, and canned chili to benefit those in need. If you bring a food donation, then the $5 entry fee is waived. This annual event is hosted in the food court, located in the heart of the Outlets of Castle Rock.
