best neighborhoods in colorado springs - 2019 edition

There’s a lot to love about living in The Springs. Having won numerous awards for Best City to Live in, the city’s great desirability, booming economy, and quality of life are enough to make anyone want to stay. One of the biggest factors when buying a home is deciding if the neighborhood will work with your lifestyle. The Springs is really fortunate that nearly every neighborhood is a great neighborhood, but we just want to shine a light on those that are considered the best of the best based on local perspectives and crime rates.

Here are the best neighborhoods in Colorado Springs this year.

Rockrimmon

Just a few minutes north of the city’s center, neighborhoods in Northwest Colorado Springs epitomize everything that’s to be desired in a neighborhood. The streets are well-kept and the homes are a bit older, so there’s really a mature and welcoming vibe throughout every winding street and quiet cul-de-sac. Much of the area was developed in the 1970s and the homes mostly feature Traditional architecture. However, each is a bit different from one to the next.

Nearly all of your everyday necessities are less than a five-minute drive away and since Centennial Boulevard is the only major road nearby, the only people traveling the streets here live here as well.

Why It’s Great

  • There are loads of amenities nearby
  • Falls within the Air Force Academy School District

Why it’s a great place to live for veterans: This area is a big draw for high-ranking officers, retirees, and the white-collar crowd. Many of the residents here work at the US Air Force Academy, but it’s also about 25 minutes from Fort Carson and Peterson AFB and most don’t mind the commute.

Residents include big-business managers, doctors, and lawyers. Homes in this area range from luxury estates nestled in the hills to more affordable properties found near Broadmoor Valley Road and Broadmoor Bluffs Drive.

The fantastic golf courses and plenty of green space, make this a truly tranquil community with an abundance of outdoor activities. There are local shops and dining options throughout, with big box stores close by along Highway 115.

Briargate

No matter who you ask, Briargate is almost always a top pick for the best neighborhood in the city, and best of all, it’s not exclusive to anyone. Master-planned, close to amenities, and minutes from the US Air Force Academy, homes in Briargate are as convenient as they are affordable. Here you can easily find a spacious home for a much more reasonable price than many places in the country, let alone the city, and since the area focuses on creating a neighborhood with lifestyle-enriching amenities, it’s an unbeatable value for families.

The amenities in this community are fantastic! Chapel Hills Mall has just about everything you could want for your shopping and dining needs. Big box stores such as Walmart and Costco line the I25, which is far enough away to not be heard but close enough to get you where you need to go quickly and efficiently!
