If you’re looking for something fun to do this year, these are the top Halloween events happening in Colorado Springs.

Boo at the Zoo

There will also be a spooky graveyard and a lighted pumpkin patch. Tickets sell out fast, so be sure to reserve yours in advance. Military discounts are available.

Emma Crawford Coffin Races

Before Emma Crawford died of tuberculosis in 1891, she declared her wish to be buried on top of Red Mountain near her beloved adopted home of Manitou Springs. Locals from the town complied and carried her coffin up the 7,200-foot slope. However, in 1921 heavy rains washed her coffin out and it raced down the slope. Every October the town holds the colorful Emma Crawford Coffin Races to honor her spirit.

When: October 29, 12pm - 3pm

Where: 900 block of Manitou Springs Ave., Manitou Springs

The Fear Complex

If you love jump scares and creepy interactive experiences, The Fear Complex is an absolute must. One ticket gives you admission to four different experiences: The Sanitarium, The Haunted Mines, Sinister Manor and 3-D Carnevil. Each experience features spine-chilling plots, stunning special effects, and unexpected scares. Think killer clowns, zombies and other terrifying creatures.

When: September 30 - November 5, 9:30pm

Where: The Fear Complex, 2220 E. Bijou Street

For a unique Halloween experience, visit the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center to spend a night with the wolves for Howl-O-Ween. Watch as the staff hand out meat-filled pumpkins to the wolves and enjoy a cozy bonfire with fall refreshments. Learn about these majestic creatures and how the center is helping provide a sanctuary for wolves and foxes that can no longer survive in the wild. The event is open to all ages and reservations are highly recommended.

When: October 30, 4pm - 6pm

Where: Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center, Divide

Haunted Lantern Tour at Cave of the Winds

Legend has it that when brothers George and John Pickett discovered the entrance to the Cave of the Winds, their candles mysteriously flickered. This would lead them into the magnificent caverns that are still a source of awe today. However, the caves also have an eerie side. Learn about local ghost stories and supernatural experiences surrounding the caves on a haunted lantern tour through the chambers.

When: Daily every 20 - 30 mins
