Emma Crawford Coffin Races

Before Emma Crawford died of tuberculosis in 1891, she declared her wish to be buried on top of Red Mountain near her beloved adopted home of Manitou Springs. Every October the town holds the colorful Emma Crawford Coffin Races to honor her spirit.
